Donald Trump on Saturday was hit with an avalanche of criticism in response to his suggestion that he looks like Elvis Presley.
The former president said earlier in the day that people throughout his life have compared his looks to those of the King of Rock and Roll. Even on Truth Social, the ex-president's own social media network, the comments were negative in some instances.
But beyond Truth Social, political onlookers were even more interested in pointing out the failed comparison.

Democratic strategist Johnny Palmadessa had this to say Saturday: "Donald Trump just compared himself to Elvis, I’m not even kidding — he just posted this. Clearly, he has dementia."
Columnist and MSNBC special correspondent Molly Jong-Fast said it was, "Just normal presidential stuff," making a light-hearted comment about the Elvis comparison.
One social media user thought it was necessary to call in Trump's family.
"OMFG [Ivanka Trump where the hell are you?!?!?!? Politics aside do something FFS," the user, Jil, wrote.
Ben Meiselas, a lawyer and the owner of Los Angeles Magazine, had this to say in response to the comparison:
"President Biden correctly stated this was the weirdest campaign he has ever been involved in during his life."
Other commenters claimed that Trump "has lost his mind," or suggested that he simply "can't be serious."
