Former President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social account on Tuesday to proclaim, "I GET MUCH BETTER POLE NUMBERS AGAINST BIDEN THAN NIKKI HALEY, NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!"

The former president swiftly deleted and reposted the comment with the word "pole" corrected to "poll" — but it was too late. Trump's flub, which comes as he is under increasing scrutiny for his moments of apparent diminished mental capacity, triggered an avalanche of mockery on high-profile social media users. Many commenters cracked lewd jokes about the potential euphemistic meaning of the word "pole."

"I don’t want to know his *pole* numbers," wrote attorney and legal commentator Bradley Moss.

"Do the 'Pole Numbers' that Trump is claiming on social media today refer to the North Pole or the South Pole?" wrote historian Michael Beschloss.

"Stormy said your pole numbers aren't so great, Donald," wrote "JaneDoeMD" — a reference to the adult film star Trump allegedly brokered a hush payment to, which is the subject of a business fraud prosecution in Manhattan.

"Fun fact: you know Donald wrote this one himself because it’s all caps," wrote the ex-president's niece, Mary Trump. "And he misspelled poll."

"POLE NUMBERS: TRUMP: 3.25 inches BIDEN: 8.75 inches," wrote the parody account Ms. Betty Bowers. "In fairness, these pole numbers are misleading as Biden was measured flaccid and Trump after a fistful of Viagra."
