- Hi guys! I would probably like to ask you what to do in this situation, since I don’t really have anyone to turn to and my every promotion somehow always ends up with some such result.
- A little bit about yourself:
- I am a 20 year old engineer with 2+ years of development (work) experience. At work, I came to the conclusion that there are no particularly interesting tasks, but I can’t change my job either, since I need money in order to provide for myself and my spouse (she also works, everything is ok).
- The tasks already all come down to the fact that I do everything according to the same algorithm and somehow even some interesting things are few and far between (everything starts to flow into the fact that I just do the UI, although I myself am a C ++ programmer).
- I decided that I wanted to prepare for an interview at another company, but in parallel, I wake up every day and realize that I am not an engineer at all in this regard. I watch my friends do cool stuff at work and I wouldn't be able to tell others that the hell I do cool stuff too. Also, I do not have a higher engineering education, I am self-taught.
- So, at this point in my life, maybe while I'm young, I would like to take the time to improve my foundation. What would you do in my place? To start studying, in which direction would you dig? Should I cover a CS course or go learn something related to Databases? I don't know, I want your advice. I really don't know what to do.
